Harry Knowles


Harry Knowles, born in Austin, Texas in 1971 has been a life long fan of the film going experience within these city limits. In early 1996, he founded Ain't It Cool News as an outlet for sharing his passion and love of cinema. In the subsequent 12 years it has grown with leaps and bounds to be the most popular independent online resource for movie news and reviews. Harry has sat across the aisle from Roger Ebert and written in such varied publications as The New Yorker, Sci-Fi Universe, The Austin Chronicle, Penthouse and Planet Hollywood's in-store magazine. Harry and Ain' It Cool have been featured in almost every magazine and news outlet around. Knowles is the creator of the infamous Butt-Numb-A-Thon, a 24 hour film festival that presents a mysterious line-up of vintage and future releases, along with helping to found Fantastic Fest alongside Tim League, Paul Alvardo-Dykstra and Tim McCanlies, which has since grown to become the biggest and best American genre festival in existence.
